Lares Trek with Inka Trail

Itinerario

Day 01: CUSCO – LARES – WACAHUASI.

Transfer from the hotel at 6 am approx. to then head to the city of Lares. On the way, we can appreciate the majestic sacred valley with its fertile lands, then we reach the province of Calca (2,940 masl) through the small towns of Totora and Maucaupata where the villagers dress with their typical costumes, and we will appreciate how they are devoted mostly to textiles, agriculture and livestock.

Finally, after a trip of approx. 4 hours we arrive at Lares (3,200 m.) We visit the thermal baths to take a refreshing bath. Then we have the lunch, having contacted our carriers, we began the trek that arrives at our first camp in Huacawasi 4 hours (3.8500 masl).

Day 02: HUACAWASI -IPSAYCOCHA – PATACANCHA.

After breakfast, we start the trek to our second camp. This day, we start early; as we will ascend through the Ipsay pass (4545 MSNM). On the way, we will see different rural communities, as well as different customs and textiles that people there wear for their daily use. We will arrive at the lagoon of Ipsaycocha where we will have lunch, after a break, we will continue to Patacancha, where we will take a bus to go to Ollantaytambo, where we will spend the night.

Day 03: OLLANTAYTAMBO -KM104

After taking our breakfast, we will go to the train station (6.45 a.m.) to take the train to the 104 km. We will arrive at 8.45 a.m. where our guide will be waiting for us to make the trek, once we enter the Inka trail and pass through the control, we will visit the first archaeological site of Chachabamba for a period of half an hour (2000masl). Then, we will make the Ascent to Wiñayhuayna, a journey of 3.00 hours average to reach the archaeological site of the same name, where we will have a guided tour and then we will take our food. After that, we will go to the control of the Puerta del Sol or Inti Punku, where we will be at 2 pm and we will have the first view from the city of Machupicchu, we will have time for the photos and then we will descend to the city of Machupicchu for a period of 45 minutes. We will have the classic views, this is the time to take photos and then we will go to the exit to take the bus to the city of Aguas Calientes. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 04: MACHUPICCHU – CUSCO.

Very early in the morning we embark on the first buses that depart at 5.30 am. In the direction of the city of Machu Picchu, which will arrive at 6:00 am aprox, you will have a guided tour of approximately two hours. Later we will have time to visit our optional alternatives (Inka Bridge for example). Alternatively, you can climb the extra mountains Huaynapicchu or Machupicchu Mountain (extra)
