Great Southern PERU

In this 12-day adventure will visit the City of Kings, Lima;   take a flight to the capital of the empire of the Incas Cusco, visit his golden palace, colonial temples;   the Sacred Valley and the archaeological sites of Pisac and Ollantaytambo, enjoy the wonder of the World Machu Picchu for a short walk to Huaynapicchu, visit Maras, agricultural research center Moray and salt mines;   the Sistine Chapel of America;   The Temple of Viracocha God with different archaeological sites arriving to Puno, enjoying the highest navigable lake in the world Titicaca and its floating islands of Uros and Amantani, road to White City Arequipa observe ponds, birds and vicuñas, city tour in the city and finally visit the deepest canyon in America, Colca Canyon and enjoy the flight of the condors.

Tour description

First day: Welcome and City Tour in the city of Kings:

On his arrival at Jorge Chavez International Airport, our staff will be waiting for you with a sign which bears his name, and then transported to the hotel.   It will be provided free time so they can enjoy our cuisine.   In the afternoon we start our tour with a stop at the smallest district of Lima, Barranco where the famous Bridge of Sighs, the Hermitage and the monument to Isabel Granada Larco “Chabuca Granda” highlights.   We arrived at Miraflores to know the Parque del Amor with a panoramic view of the Huaca Pucllana, Pre Inca temple religious and administrative center inhabited between the III and VIII centuries AD we will walk through the park of olive trees dating from the Viceroyalty with area of ​​23 hectares. With 6 km long reach historic center doors where appreciate the Palace of Justice, the Stroll of the Naval Heroes, the French palace and colonial buildings such as the Plaza Mayor, the Government Palace, the Archbishop’s Palace, the Cathedral, the Municipal Palace, Plaza San Martin, among others.

We visited the National Museum, where you can spot a collection of gold from Peru and a selection of ceramics, metalwork and textiles of various pre-Columbian cultures.   Continuing our tour of the São Francisco Church and Convent, mainly visiting its underground crypts known as theCatacombs and then return to the hotel.

Second day: Travel by plane from Lima to Cusco and Cusco City tour:

After breakfast, our staff will perform at the hotel to transfer to the airport and to embark on plane Lima to Cusco and reach the city of Cusco our staff will be waiting for you with a sign which bears his name, and then transported the hotel of their choice.   Have a free place to rest, adjust to the altitude and take their food time.   Between 1:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. we will be going through your hotel to start the tour, we will visit the Cathedral, Colonial religious monument of extraordinary artistic value, the Koricancha or Temple of the Sun, where you can appreciate the fine work that the Incas performed on stone.   Continuing the tour we will go to Sacsayhuaman fortress with strategic location, offering an unparalleled view of the city, in this place the Inti Raymi or “Fiesta del Sol” is held every June 24, then visit Kenko, Tambomachay and Puca Pucara, archaeological complex of religious character.

Third day: Tour to the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

In time we will go to the hotel to pick them up to start the tour, en route we will stop at the natural viewpoint of Taray, where the guide will give an introduction to the Sacred Valley.   The first place to visit is Pisaq, one of the most important archaeological sites in the area, then move the craft market where you can do some shopping for souvenirs and handicrafts, will continue the journey towards Urubamba where we will have a buffet lunch at an upscale restaurant .   In the afternoon visit the Citadel of Ollantaytambo (only city that keeps the urban design by the great Inca architects) and to finish the tour will visit the Pueblito Picturesque Chinchero.

Fourth day: Journey to Machu Picchu and Aguas Calientes day off.

This tour begins with pickup service from your hotel in Cusco, one hour before the departure of your train, and then transported to the Poroy station, located 20 minutes from the city, then shall address the Railway Company “PERU RAIL” and start your journey back to the town of “Aguas Calientes” (2000 m), the train ride lasts 3 hours and 20 minutes.   In Aguas Calientes hotel staff will be waiting for you to then transfer to hotel, have free day in Aguas Calientes, are advised to visit the site museum Manuel Chavez Ballon, The Butterfly “Pillpi Wasi” or thermo medicinal waters.   At night our guide will seek to provide them with the information needed for the day of your tour.

Fifth day: Tour to Machu Picchu “The Lost City of the Incas” and hike Huayna Picchu.

In the morning we head to the bus station, to ascend 450 m in height, by a zigzag way for 30 minutes to reach the world wonder “Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu”, known as “The Lost City of the Incas” .   When you reach the citadel of Machu Picchu, we pass the control, where our tickets will deliver revenue and begin our guided tour, visiting the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Solar Clock, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows and cemeteries around for more than two hours.   Then you will be given free time to stroll around the citadel, in the afternoon we will take the bus back to Aguas Calientes and head to our hotel to get our bags and get to the train station with anticipation to return to the city of Cusco where we will be waiting at the station Poroy to transfer you to your hotel.

Sixth day: Tour to Maras, Moray and Salt.

After breakfast we will go through your hotel at 8:45 hrs hours.   in our mobility, to go to the town of Maras through the route with very colorful landscapes and typical populations, first visit Moray, considered an Inca agricultural research center where experiments were conducted crop at different heights, the provision of their platforms produces a gradient of microclimates taking the center of the concentric circular terraces higher temperature and gradually decreasing outwards at lower temperatures, thus being able to simulate up to 20 different microclimates.   It is believed that Moray could have served as a model for the calculation of agricultural production not only the Urubamba Valley but also from different parts of Tahuantinsuyo.   Continuing our journey will visit the famous salt mines of Maras known by some as “salt mines” are constituted by about 3000 small wells, built on the side of the slope of the mountain “Qaqawiñay” during the dry season are filled or “water” every 3 days with salt water that comes from a natural spring located at the top of the wells so that the water evaporates, the salt contained in it will gradually solidify.   The pools are owned by the locals.

Seventh day: Guided Tour route in Cusco – Puno: Andahuaylillas, Raqchi, Sicuani, La Raya and Pucara.

After breakfast you will be given the hotel transfer to the bus station to Puno.   We begin our visit to Andahuaylillas, which for their valuable works, is considered as the Sistine Chapel of America.   Then visit Racchi, where is located the “Temple of God Wiracocha”.   We will have lunch at a restaurant in the area.   Then we will stop at La Raya, the highest point of the route;   there you can take great pictures.   Our next destination is Pucara, where we will visit the Lithic Museum.   This museum lets dive into the history and evolution of the Andean man from primitive times.   After Pucara the route will be through high Andean plates under an unreal clarity and finally be arriving to the city of Puno, on the site will be waiting for our staff to provide the shuttle to your hotel.

Eighth day: Tour to Lake Titicaca, Uros Islands and Taquile.

After taking breakfast at the hotel will be transferred to the port of Puno where they embarked on the boat, you will visit the floating islands of the Uros, considered as artificial or floating islands for 45 minutes, we will continue our visit to the Isla Taquile of outstanding natural beauty, ethnic, cultural and archaeological.   At 5:30 p.m. we will be returning to the hotel.

Ninth day: Travel from Puno to Arequipa and City tour in the White City.

In due time, the staff will go to the hotel and then board a tourist bus to the city of Arequipa, the white city on the route observe ponds, birds and vicuñas.   Arrive at the city of Arequipa, averaging 12 hours and after lunch we will tour the viewpoint of Carmen Alto, Yanahuara, Monasterio de Santa Catalina, Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, Church and Cloisters of the Society of Jesus.

Tenth day: Journey to the Colca Canyon, the deepest in America.

After breakfast our staff will pick you up from your hotel for the trip to the Colca Valley, passing through the Chachani Volcano and the Pampa Cañahuas National Reserve, where we will observe vicuñas, continue along Vizcachani, Toccra pampa where we will observe a variety of birds. Later arrive at the Mirador de los Andes where you can see the volcanoes surrounding the city of Arequipa, afternoon descend to Chivay and after lunch visit the hot springs La Calera.

Eleventh day: Journey to the Cruz del Condor in the Colca Canyon.

Very early we will leave for the Cruz del Condor, spectacular place from where you can enjoy the flight of the condors.   On our return we visit the village of Pinchollo, Maca, Yanque and the viewpoints of Antahuilque and Choquetico.   At noon return to Chivay and after lunch we will return to the city of Arequipa.

Twelfth day: Travel by plane from Arequipa to Lima and farewell.

Two hours before the departure of your flight to Lima, pick you up from your hotel and then transported to the airport, where we say goodbye and give order to our services.
